Jonathan Tan

Jonathan achieved Dizi Diploma with Distinction in the examinations organized by National University of Singapore, Centre For The Arts. In 2005, he attained Dizi Grade 8 with Distinction in the grading examinations jointly organized bu China Central Conservatory of Music and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. He was also invited to perform at the High Scorers’ Concert. His mentors and teachers include SCO (Singapore Chinese Orchestra) musician Mr Boo Chin Kiah and Mr Lim Sin Yeo, and eminent Dizi maestros Qu Xiang, Li Zhen, Choo Boon.

His performance experience and achievements include the following: “Great Masters Of Chinese Music” concert in 2012, he achieved Champion title in the 2nd International and Commercial Bank of China Talent competition in 2012, he also achieved 1st runner up title in the NAC National Chinese Music Competition for the Dizi Solo Open Category in 2012, World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensemble (WASBE) Conference (2011)
